Everything is more dramatic when you’re a kid. You just haven’t had that much life experience yet, so things that will seem small in retrospect feel pretty meaningful and deep at the time. It’s why there have been so many terrible songs and books about young love!

This is the same for injuries. While the damage might be minor, to a child, it’s their world — and to this child, it’s a reason to curse like a sailor.
